The Franklin County Consortium for Good Government celebrated its twentieth "birthday" at Brookwood Presbyterian Church, one of its founding organizations in 1991, on September 15, 2011 by recognizing some of the many people and organizations who have contributed to its success in helping central Ohio voters learn about candidates and issues. Chuck White of 10TV, himself an honoree, served as master of ceremonies, and speakers included former director of the Franklin County Board of Elections and current Assistant Director of the Ohio Secretary of State Matthew Damschroder, former Columbus City Council member and Director of the Ohio Department of Insurance Mary Jo Hudson, and Director of Continuing Education & Lifelong Learning at Trinity Lutheran Seminary Ward (Skip) Cornett. The celebration also served to kick off the Consortium's 2011 series of “Meet the Candidates” Forum events throughout Franklin County, Ohio in September and October.
